Overview

Embark on an unforgettable 3-day 4x4 excursion through the diverse landscapes of southern Morocco. From Marrakech, cross the Tichka pass, explore historic kasbahs such as Aït Ben Haddou, and follow the legendary Draa Valley to Zagora. Then, head to the majestic Chegaga dunes after a cultural stop in Tamegroute and M’hamid. Enjoy a magical night in a desert camp under the stars. The return journey takes you across the Iriki plateau and the renowned villages of the Anti-Atlas. A perfect blend of adventure, culture, and breathtaking scenery.

Tour Plan

After breakfast, you will take your 4x4 vehicles southwards, crossing the Tichka pass (2260m), then descending towards the village of Telouat, famous for its kasbah built around 1860 by the Glaoua. Continue down the beautiful Ounila Valley, the old caravan route, rich with terraced crops and mud-brick villages. Arrival at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location of many movies. Lunch break. In the afternoon, pass through Ouarzazate and the stunning Draa Valley with its beautiful palm groves. Arrival in Zagora, hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

After a short visit to the famous Quranic library of Tamegroute and pottery workshops, the excursion continues toward M’hamid el Ghizlane, crossing sandy landscapes and desert vegetation. Upon arrival at Chegaga, you will head directly to a beautiful desert camp nestled in the heart of the dunes. Possibility to participate in a camel ride or take a short hike to admire the breathtaking dune landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay in the bivouac.

After breakfast, departure toward the foothills of the Anti-Atlas via the vast Iriki plateau, through Foum Zguid, Taznakht and Wawzguit, known as the capital of Berber carpets and saffron. Continue via Amerzegane to reach the Tizi N’Tichka pass and return to Marrakech.

- Scarf or shawl (great for sun protection or covering from desert winds).

- A guided camel ride may be part of your experience in Merzouga, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a scarf for added comfort during the ride.

Monnaie :

1 euro équivaut à environ 10 à 11 dirhams selon le cour de la banque. Dans toutes les grandes villes, vous pourrez retirer de l'argent avec une carte Visa internationale. Vous trouverez également de nombreux bureaux de change. Attention, ne retirez pas trop d'argent car l'exportation des dirhams est interdite.

Le Maroc est à l'heure GMT, il y a donc une heure de décalage par rapport à l’Europe.

Passeport :

Pour les ressortissants français, belges ou suisses, passeport en cours de validité (pas de visa) valable au moins six mois après la date d’entrée sur le territoire marocain.

Santé :

Aucune vaccination n'est obligatoire. La meilleure précaution restant la prévention.
